The People Under the Stairs

ComedyHorrorMysteryThriller103 min

After breaking into his family’s landlords’ heavily fortified house, young Fool finds himself trapped in a maze of locked rooms, hidden passages, and the disfigured captives kept under the stairs. Brandon Quintin Adams is Fool, a resourceful kid trying to survive the home’s sadistic owners, while Everett McGill and Wendy Robie make the landlord siblings a prim, shotgun-carrying menace. Inside the house, A.J. Langer’s Alice becomes an uneasy ally as Fool uncovers what the pair have been hiding in the walls. Written and directed by Wes Craven, the 1991 film threads siege suspense through a story of greed, abuse, and neighborhood exploitation.
