Luke, an Essex mechanic and single father, wanders into an underground nightclub and meets Aysha, a British Indian performer in drag who keeps his life split between the stage and home. Ben Hardy is Luke, whose instant attraction turns into a reckoning when he realizes Aysha isn’t the cisgender woman he assumed; opposite him, Jason Patel’s Aysha is guarding truths of his own. Moving between Essex and Aysha’s nightlife world, the film follows two people drawn together across culture, family life, and shifting ideas of who they are.
