The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
DramaFamily113 min
As famine closes in on his village in Malawi, 13-year-old William Kamkwamba turns to a science book and an improvised idea: building a wind turbine that might help save his family and neighbors. Maxwell Simba is William, a bright, watchful kid working with scraps, stubbornness, and what he can learn on his own. Around him, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Aïssa Maïga shape the pressures bearing down on home life as crops fail and options narrow. Based on a true story, the film follows William’s first steps from curiosity to invention without losing sight of the village around him.
