J. Edgar
CrimeDocumentaryDramaRomance137 min
Leonardo DiCaprio is J. Edgar Hoover, the man who became the public face of American law enforcement for nearly 50 years. From the 1919 Palmer Raids onward, the film follows Hoover’s rise to the head of the FBI as he cultivates a formidable image and protects the private secrets that could destroy it. Armie Hammer’s Clyde Tolson remains closest to Hoover as his influence stretches across decades of American public life. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the story moves between Hoover’s official power and the guarded world he keeps behind closed doors.
