Rise of the Footsoldier
ActionAdventureCrimeDramaThriller119 min
In Britain’s world of football hooligan firms, Carlton Leach moves from match-day violence into the criminal underworld, where beatings, protection work, and drug money bring higher stakes than any terrace fight. As his reputation grows, the crew around him pushes deeper into Essex gangland, tying street muscle to dealers and armed enforcers. The film tracks how that rise feeds on loyalty, intimidation, and quick retaliation, while feuds and ambition make every alliance unstable. Ricci Harnett’s Carlton is pulled toward bigger scores and more dangerous company, including figures like Pat Tate, as the violence around them builds toward the criminal landscape behind the Rettendon killings.
