After years in a mental hospital, Ricky Caldwell is released still carrying the trauma of his parents’ Christmas Eve murders and the death of his brother Billy. Eric Freeman is Ricky, recounting that history in flashbacks before turning his anger into a revenge-driven killing spree. As the sequel circles back to Billy’s Santa-clad murders through footage from the first film, it tracks Ricky through his own string of violent encounters, mixing Christmas imagery with blunt 1980s slasher bloodshed.
