Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol
ComedyCrime88 min
Commandant Lassard opens the Police Academy to civilian volunteers, turning his Citizens on Patrol program into a community-relations experiment that quickly spins into chaos. George Gaynes's Lassard backs the idea with his usual optimism, while G.W. Bailey's Captain Harris is determined to make sure it collapses. Around them, returning academy regulars including Steve Guttenberg, Bubba Smith, and Michael Winslow are tasked with training a new class of neighborhood recruits who are even less prepared for patrol duty than they are. The fourth film shifts the series' parade of pratfalls, misunderstandings, and station-house havoc onto everyday citizens suddenly trying to police the streets.
