The Savages

ComedyDrama114 min

A sister and brother are pushed back into each other’s orbit when their father can no longer live on his own, forcing them to sort out care, paperwork, and a nursing home placement. Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman are the adult siblings at the center of it, circling practical decisions and long-familiar tensions as they try to do right by a parent who has become increasingly dependent. Philip Bosco is their ailing father, whose decline turns every visit into another negotiation over duty, distance, and what family members owe one another when the choices get harder.
