The Tale
DramaMysteryThriller115 min
When a story she wrote in middle school resurfaces, Jennifer Fox is forced to revisit her first sexual relationship and the version of it she has carried into adulthood. Laura Dern is Jennifer, piecing through fragments of memory, shifting perspectives, and the defenses she built around an experience she once understood very differently. Written and directed by Fox and drawn from her own life, the film turns that reckoning into an investigation of memory itself, as Jennifer tries to reconcile the story she has long told with what may actually have happened.
