Smokey and the Bandit
ActionAdventureComedy96 min
Bandit takes a bet to haul a truckload of illegal Coors beer from Texarkana to Atlanta in under 28 hours, with his friend Cledus handling the rig and a stubborn sheriff turning the run into a rolling manhunt. Burt Reynolds is the Bandit, a fast-talking wheelman who keeps the cops busy while the miles pile up. Along the way he picks up Sally Field’s Carrie, a runaway bride whose sudden detour puts Sheriff Buford T. Justice even more firmly on their trail. The route cuts across Southern highways in a haze of CB chatter, evasive driving, and escalating police pursuit.
