Calvin, a boy growing up in an orphanage, finds a battered pair of sneakers with the faded letters “MJ” hanging from a power line — and after a storm leaves him and the shoes struck by lightning, his game changes overnight. Shad Moss is Calvin, whose impossible jump shot and speed carry him from neighborhood courts to an NBA roster. Morris Chestnut and Jonathan Lipnicki are part of the world around Calvin as his sudden talent turns a long-shot dream into a very public shot at the pros.
