The Book of Life

ActionAdventureAnimationComedyFamilyFantasyMusicalRomance95 min

Manolo is a young bullfighter from a Mexican family that expects him in the ring, even as he’d rather make music and pursue María. Diego Luna voices Manolo, while Zoe Saldaña’s María is caught between him and his celebrated childhood friend Joaquín, voiced by Channing Tatum. On the Day of the Dead, Manolo is swept into an adventure that carries him through fantastical afterlife worlds, where family duty, romance, and fear all collide. The film weaves Mexican folklore and musical numbers into Manolo’s struggle to choose between the life laid out for him and the one he wants.
