The First Purge
ActionAdventureCrimeHorrorSci-FiThriller98 min
The New Founding Fathers of America launch a one-night experiment in an isolated New York community, claiming that legalized violence will drive the crime rate down for the rest of the year. What begins as a contained policy trial quickly turns into a fight for survival as the residents inside it realize who stands to benefit. Y'lan Noel and Lex Scott Davis lead the story from street level, while Marisa Tomei is among the figures behind the program. As the idea that will become the annual Purge takes shape, the film stays close to the neighborhood caught in its first night.
