In Smallville, Kansas, teenager Clark Kent is trying to live an ordinary life while hiding abilities no one around him can explain. At school he deals with crushes, secrets, and the pull of being different, while strange events and dangerous newcomers keep turning his hometown into the center of one crisis after another. His bond with Lana Lang grows more complicated the harder it becomes to stay honest, and his unlikely friendship with Lex Luthor starts to carry its own risks. As Clark gets older, the story widens beyond high school into early adulthood, pushing him toward the purpose, enemies, and moral choices that shape the hero he will become.
