Trainspotting

CrimeDrama94 min

In Edinburgh, Ewan McGregor is Mark Renton, a heroin addict lurching between cold-turkey promises, petty crime and nights with the same volatile crowd he keeps trying to leave. Around him, Robert Carlyle's Begbie turns every scheme ugly, while friends like Sick Boy, Spud and Tommy drift through the same cycle of drugs, joblessness and damaged loyalty. Danny Boyle's film follows Mark through bad ideas, brief stabs at sobriety and a move to London, where the life he thought he had left behind keeps finding its way back.
