El Topo
ActionAdventureDramaWestern125 min
Alejandro Jodorowsky is El Topo, a black-clad gunfighter who rides into the desert with his six-year-old son and sends the boy to bury the tokens of childhood before setting out to confront a series of warrior masters. Brontis Jodorowsky appears as the child at his side, watching a brutal path unfold through massacres, duels, and shifting allegiances. Working in the shape of a Western but packed with Christian imagery, Eastern philosophy, and surreal encounters, the film follows El Topo’s violent search for mastery as it edges toward something stranger and more spiritual.
