Officially, Apollo 17 was the last manned trip to the moon, but here a secret 1973 mission funded by the U.S. Department of Defense is assembled from supposedly recovered astronaut footage. Warren Christie and Lloyd Owen are among the crew members documenting routine checks, tense transmissions, and unsettling discoveries on the lunar surface as the mission starts to come apart. Framed as material NASA denies is authentic, the film stays inside helmet cams, onboard cameras, and static-choked recordings, using the barren moon, cramped modules, and long stretches of silence to build its alternate-history setup.
