Where Eagles Dare

ActionAdventureWar158 min

World War II is raging when an Allied commando unit is sent into the Bavarian Alps to rescue a captured American general from Schloss Adler, a mountaintop castle built to keep rescuers out. Richard Burton is the British officer leading the operation, with Clint Eastwood alongside him as a quiet, lethal lieutenant in a mission that starts with a parachute drop and runs through cable cars, disguises, sabotage, and a fortress packed with German troops. Mary Ure appears as a contact inside enemy territory as the rescue grows tangled with secrecy and divided loyalties.
