Monster Island
Horror83 min
In the Pacific in 1944, a Japanese soldier and a British prisoner of war wash ashore on a deserted island after their transport is destroyed, only to find they’re not alone. Dean Fujioka is Saito, stranded behind enemy lines with no choice but to work alongside Callum Woodhouse’s Bronson as something deadly moves through the water and jungle. Drawing on Malay folklore, the film turns their wartime standoff into a fight for survival against the Orang Ikan, a fish-human creature stalking the island. World War II tension and supernatural horror drive the story from the outset.
