Sommersby

DramaMysteryRomanceThriller114 min

In the South just after the Civil War, Laurel Sommersby has kept the farm going alone when her husband, long presumed dead, walks back into her life. Jodie Foster is Laurel, wary of the man at her door because the old Jack was harsh, while Richard Gere’s returned soldier seems gentler, more driven, and almost unrecognizable. As he throws himself into the land and begins repairing a bitter marriage, the town starts to question whether Jack Sommersby is truly the man who went off to war — or an impostor stepping into another man’s name.
