Crumb

ComedyDocumentaryDrama120 min

Robert Crumb is the underground cartoonist behind Keep On Truckin’ and Fritz the Cat, and this documentary builds his portrait through interviews, family testimony, and a flood of his own drawings. Aline Kominsky-Crumb, his wife and fellow cartoonist, appears alongside Crumb’s brothers Charles and Maxon, his mother, former partners, and friends as the film moves through his career and private life. The focus stays close to the man and the art, linking his sexually and racially provocative comics to the family history and personal fixations that shaped his place in American underground comix.
