John Clark is a successful Chicago estate lawyer whose nightly commute changes when he notices a woman in the window of a ballroom studio and quietly signs up for lessons. Richard Gere’s John first drifts in hoping to get closer to dance instructor Paulina (Jennifer Lopez), then finds himself drawn into the discipline, nerves, and pleasure of learning to dance. At home, his unexplained late nights and the scent of perfume unsettle his wife, and Susan Sarandon brings a cool suspicion to the role as she turns to a private detective to figure out what’s changed.
