DramaRomance110 min
After refusing to marry on her wedding day, Aya leaves Ivory Coast for Guangzhou, where she starts over in a tea export shop and forms an unexpected bond with its owner. Nina Mélo is Aya, an Ivorian woman building a life far from home; Han Chang’s Cai, a Chinese shopkeeper in his mid-40s, introduces her to the rituals of tea as their connection deepens behind the counter and in the back room. Their relationship unfolds at the meeting point of the city’s African diaspora and Chinese culture, with old burdens and outside prejudice pressing in.
