On Christmas Eve in Tokyo, three homeless people find a newborn baby in the trash and decide to track down the child’s parents. Satoshi Kon follows the search through Shinjuku’s backstreets as the unlikely trio, with voices from Toru Emori and Yoshiaki Umegaki, move between shelters, convenience stores, police stations, and a string of chance encounters. The baby’s arrival turns their search into something larger, drawing each of them toward parts of their own pasts they haven’t escaped.
