The Insider

DramaThriller158 min

After deciding to speak on camera about the tobacco industry’s practices, research chemist Jeffrey Wigand (Russell Crowe) comes under intense personal and professional attack. On the other side of the interview is Al Pacino’s Lowell Bergman, a 60 Minutes producer trying to get Wigand’s story on the air as corporate lawyers and network pressures begin to shape what can be said. Michael Mann frames the film around newsroom strategy, private meetings, and the cost of going public, with Christopher Plummer in the mix as veteran correspondent Mike Wallace.
