High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore discovers that her stepfather once had a secret life as a superhero’s sidekick, and a chance encounter with a long-lost cosmic staff changes her place in that world. Brec Bassinger is Courtney, a bright, athletic teenager suddenly carrying a legacy much bigger than school and home life, while her stepfather (Luke Wilson) has his own history with the heroes she’s only beginning to understand. As Courtney claims the staff for herself, she becomes the spark for a new generation of young heroes tied to the past of the Justice Society of America.
