A young actress pushes method acting past the point of performance when an audition for a demanding dramatist drives her to inhabit Sarah Kane with unsettling intensity. In Paris, Aurélie Houguenade centers the film as a newcomer whose experiments with sex, confrontation, and self-harm begin to blur the line between rehearsal and private life, while Jean-Marie Galey is the severe dramatist she hopes to impress. What starts as preparation for a coveted role turns into an identity crisis, as ambition and performance become harder to separate.
