Dr. Daniel Pierce is a neuroscience professor whose unusual ability to read human behavior pulls him into difficult federal investigations. Eric McCormack's Daniel approaches cases through psychology, observation, and sudden flashes of insight, but his schizophrenia, hallucinations, and awkward social instincts can complicate the work as much as they inform it. The series moves between campus life and criminal cases, keeping Daniel’s mind at the center of each mystery, with Rachael Leigh Cook and Kelly Rowan among the people drawn into his professional and personal orbit.
