The Disappearance of Josef Mengele
Drama135 min
In the years after World War II, August Diehl is Josef Mengele, the Auschwitz doctor who escapes to South America and builds a life in hiding to avoid trial. Moving from Buenos Aires to Paraguay and Brazil, he depends on false identities, political shelter, and a network willing to protect him, while the film tracks his long disappearance through the eyes of the son who finds him again. The story stays close to the mechanics of flight and reinvention as Mengele tries to outlast the manhunt and keep his past at a distance.
