On the way to the Piston Cup Championship in California, rookie race car Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is knocked off course and stranded in Radiator Springs, a sleepy Route 66 town that’s been left behind. What starts as a detour turns into time with the town’s residents, including Sally and the reserved Doc Hudson (Paul Newman). As McQueen waits to get back on the road, the stop forces him to slow down, take responsibility for the trouble he caused, and look past trophies and fame.
