Burke and Hare

ComedyCrimeHorrorThriller91 min

In 1828 Edinburgh, two scheming Irish immigrants stumble into a profitable trade when medical schools pay well for fresh cadavers and the legal supply runs thin. William Burke and William Hare start by selling a body that comes their way, then turn the city’s hunger for anatomical specimens into a business of lies, shortcuts, and increasingly grim bargains. As money flows, so do rivals, suspicious locals, and the risk of drawing police attention. Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis lead a version of the notorious case that treats the murders as a macabre farce, following the pair as small-time opportunists push their luck further than they can control.
