Working Girl

ComedyDramaRomance113 min

Melanie Griffith is an ambitious Staten Island secretary trying to break into Manhattan’s mergers-and-acquisitions world. When her polished new boss, played by Sigourney Weaver, takes credit for one of her ideas and is then sidelined with a broken leg, she seizes the chance to step into the executive role herself and push the deal forward. Harrison Ford enters the picture as a broker who can open the right doors, unaware that the woman across from him is improvising her way through a job that was never supposed to be hers. New York offices, ferries, power suits, and class friction shape the story.
