Casablanca

DramaRomanceWar103 min

In Vichy-controlled Casablanca in December 1941, American expatriate Rick Blaine runs a nightclub where refugees chase exit visas and every table carries a different allegiance. Humphrey Bogart is Rick, outwardly detached until Ingrid Bergman’s Ilsa Lund walks back into his life with her husband, a Czechoslovak resistance leader whose escape could matter far beyond the city. Around them, Claude Rains’ urbane police captain and a constant flow of gamblers, smugglers, and exiles turn Rick’s café into a crossroads of wartime politics, old love, and private bargains.
