Kaneda, the leader of a teenage biker gang in dystopian Neo-Tokyo, is pulled into a widening crisis when his childhood friend Tetsuo survives a crash and falls under the control of a secret military project. Mitsuo Iwata is Kaneda, with Nozomu Sasaki voicing Tetsuo as their friendship gets tangled in government experiments, civil unrest, and a group of child psychics. Katsuhiro Otomo’s anime starts with street races and gang clashes, then pushes deeper into a futuristic Tokyo shaped by military power, psychic ability, and destruction on a city scale.
