The Majestic

DramaRomance152 min

In 1950s Hollywood, a screenwriter finds his career and reputation collapsing when he is suspected of communist ties. Fleeing the pressure, he crashes on a coastal road and wakes up with no memory of who he is. In a small California town, the locals believe he is Luke Trimble, a hometown hero long missing after World War II, and they welcome him back into lives paused by grief and hope. As he settles into the town and helps restore its shuttered movie house, the borrowed life begins to feel like a second chance. But as fragments of his past return, he faces the cost of the lie surrounding him and the people who need it to be true.
