Self-help author Dr. Burke Ryan has built a career teaching people how to live with loss, even as he remains stuck after his wife’s death. Aaron Eckhart is Burke, arriving in Seattle to lead a high-profile grief seminar when he crosses paths with florist Eloise Chandler. Jennifer Aniston’s Eloise is independent, skeptical, and not especially interested in Burke’s polished public image. As the seminar unfolds in hotel meeting rooms and crowded signing lines, Burke’s private grief begins to collide with the advice he gives from the stage.
