Fallen Leaves

ComedyDramaRomance81 min

In modern-day Helsinki, Ansa and Holappa meet by chance in a karaoke bar, then keep losing each other just as a fragile connection starts to form. Alma Pöysti is Ansa, moving through a routine life that suddenly has the shape of possibility, while Jussi Vatanen’s Holappa brings his own complications to the search. Between lost phone numbers, mistaken addresses, alcoholism, and even a stray dog, their attempts to reconnect turn into a series of near misses. Karaoke bars, movie theaters, and spare apartments give the story a plain, wintry backdrop, with humor arriving in small gestures and matter-of-fact setbacks.
