ComedyDrama113 min

Kenneth Branagh is Lee Simon, a stalled writer who leaves his wife, Robin, and takes a job covering Manhattan celebrities, bouncing from interviews and lavish parties to a string of empty affairs while trying to get his screenplay made. As Lee drifts through the city’s media and fashion circles, Judy Davis’s Robin finds herself on a different path when TV producer Tony (Joe Mantegna) takes an interest in her. Their divorce opens two parallel routes into the same world of fame, status, and self-invention, with Lee chasing access from the outside while Robin is drawn closer to the center.
