Batman is tracking an escaped Joker when the case turns personal: the Clown Prince of Crime targets Commissioner Gordon’s family in an attempt to prove that one terrible day can push anyone into madness. Kevin Conroy returns as Gotham’s Dark Knight, with Mark Hamill voicing a Joker whose campaign of cruelty is framed against glimpses of his own descent. Tara Strong’s Barbara Gordon is caught in the blast radius as the story moves from Batman’s investigation to the Joker’s assault on the Gordons, building toward a confrontation colored by memory, obsession, and a carnival backdrop.
