The Final Countdown
ActionAdventureSci-FiWar103 min
During routine maneuvers near Hawaii in 1980, the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz is caught in a strange storm and thrown back to December 6, 1941, with the attack on Pearl Harbor only hours away. Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen are among the people aboard as the ship’s crew and officers try to understand what happened and reckon with the fact that their jets, weapons, and radar now exist in a world on the brink of war. Katharine Ross and Charles Durning round out a story that folds time travel into carrier-deck logistics, military command, and the looming history of Pearl Harbor.
