Jet Li is Wong Fei-hung, the famed martial arts master who enters the Dancing Lion Competition with his disciples when the event becomes entangled with an assassination plot. What begins as a public contest turns into a clash with an arrogant, underhanded rival, with lion-dance teams, martial arts schools, and political danger all converging in the same arena. Rosamund Kwan’s Yee remains part of Wong’s circle as the story moves between ceremony, rivalry, and sudden fights. The film stages its action around towering lion-dance poles and crowded competition grounds, folding Wong’s disciplined style into a larger spectacle.
