Funny People
ComedyDrama146 min
Famous comedian George Simmons gets life-altering health news and turns to an aspiring stand-up, Ira, to help manage his work and his suddenly complicated life. Adam Sandler is George, a rich, isolated star whose jokes come easier than his relationships, while Seth Rogen’s Ira gets pulled into the perks and the mess of being close to him. As George starts revisiting old clubs and unfinished personal business, Judd Apatow follows the uneasy friendship between the two through backstage comedy, awkward reconnecting, and a wider circle that includes Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill, and Jason Schwartzman.
