Ali: Fear Eats the Soul

DramaRomance93 min

Emmi Kurowski, a widowed cleaning woman growing older on her own, finds unexpected companionship when she steps into a bar one rainy night and meets Ali. Brigitte Mira is Emmi, whose tentative friendship with the younger mechanic soon becomes a marriage that unsettles nearly everyone around them. With El Hedi ben Salem as Ali, the film follows the couple as neighbors, co-workers, and Emmi’s adult children react with open hostility, forcing both of them to reckon with prejudice, isolation, and the private doubts that surface under that pressure.
