Bad News Bears

Comedy113 min

Billy Bob Thornton is Morris Buttermaker, a burned-out minor league ballplayer and heavy drinker who gets roped into coaching a woeful Little League team. Pressed into the job by his lawyer (Marcia Gay Harden), he takes over the Bears, a ragtag group of kids with little discipline and less direction, then starts molding them with an offbeat, often questionable coaching style. As the season moves along, the Bears inch toward a matchup with the rival Yankees, turning neighborhood baseball into a contest between polished winners and a team nobody expects to contend.
