War of the Worlds

ActionAdventureSci-FiThriller117 min

Tom Cruise is Ray Ferrier, a divorced dockworker and unreliable father whose rare weekend with his teenage son and young daughter (Dakota Fanning) is shattered by a strange lightning storm and the arrival of towering alien war machines. As cities fall and highways jam, Ray has to get both kids out of New Jersey and keep them moving through panicked crowds, wrecked neighborhoods, and strangers’ shelters, all while trying to reunite them with their mother. Steven Spielberg keeps the invasion at ground level, following one family as the world around them comes apart.
