Angel Heart

HorrorMysteryThriller113 min

Down-and-out Brooklyn private eye Harry Angel takes a missing-person case and winds up chasing a vanished singer from Harlem into New Orleans and the Louisiana swamps. Mickey Rourke is Angel, following clues through smoke-filled jazz clubs, churches, and a shadowy world of voodoo as the search starts to connect with brutal murders, visions, and gaps in his own memory. The job comes from a mysterious client played by Robert De Niro, whose presence hangs over the investigation from the start, while Lisa Bonet turns up on the New Orleans end of Angel’s trail. Alan Parker folds noir and the supernatural into the same feverish case.
