Smooth-talking drifter Jim Dodge lands an overnight janitor job at a local Target and ends up trapped inside after hours with Josie McClellan, the restless daughter of the town’s wealthiest businessman. Frank Whaley is Jim, a fast talker with a shaky work history and a habit of stretching the truth; Jennifer Connelly’s Josie is looking for a way out of her home life and out of town. What starts as a strange private night in a fluorescent department store — complete with roller skates, confessions, and post-midnight wandering — shifts again when two would-be burglars show up.
