Monster's Ball

DramaRomance113 min

Hank (Billy Bob Thornton) is a prison guard on death row, carrying the rituals of executions and the bitterness of his home life into everything he does. When he meets Leticia, Halle Berry’s struggling waitress and the widow of a man whose execution Hank oversaw, the two begin a tentative relationship built on grief, secrecy, and need. The film keeps its focus close on these two damaged lives, with the electric chair hanging over the story and the everyday pressures of work, family, and loss shaping every encounter.
