Pinocchio

ActionAdventureAnimationComedyFamilyFantasyMusical88 min

When woodcarver Geppetto wishes for a son, a fairy brings his marionette Pinocchio to life and gives him a chance to become a human boy. Christian Rub voices Geppetto, while Cliff Edwards’ Jiminy Cricket follows along as Pinocchio’s conscience through a series of misadventures involving carnival schemers, bad influences, and danger at sea. Along the way, the wooden boy is tested on whether he can be brave, truthful, and unselfish, with his lies leaving a very visible mark. The 1940 animated musical mixes storybook fantasy, talking animals, and darker detours beneath its childlike setup.
