City of God: The Fight Rages On
CrimeDrama52 min per episode
Twenty years after City of God, photographer Buscapé looks back on a new struggle in Rio’s Cidade de Deus, where a young drug dealer’s release from prison throws the favela back into dispute. As police, traffickers, and militias fight for control, the pressure falls on the residents caught between them and trying to break the cycle. Alexandre Rodrigues returns to the world of Buscapé alongside Roberta Rodrigues, with Andréia Horta and Marcos Palmeira among the faces around the renewed conflict. The story moves into the early 2000s, revisiting familiar lives while following a community pushed to organize against the forces closing in.
